IGNITE: Prescribed Fire Skills Training
This training is for anyone who wants to learn about the intentional use of fire for healthy landscapes and safer communities. Experienced instructors will teach hands-on skills including: weather monitoring, equipment use, ignition techniques, and basic burn planning. Additional talks will cover fire science, Indigenous cultural burning, and more.

Property Evaluation Workshop
We will be offering a free property evaluation workshop and field tour at Pacifica: A Garden in the Siskiyous, explaining the factors that go into evaluating a property for a prescribed burn and the considerations for laying out a burn unit.

Williams Pile Burning Workshop
This workshop is aimed at people with limited or no experience using fire, and covers building good piles, choosing burn days, safe ignition, monitoring active fires, extinguishing piles, and monitoring completed burn sites. We will have multiple experienced fire professionals and resources on site to ensure safe and informative burns.

NOTE: As we write this, the Smith River Complex is approaching O'Brien. Firefighters surveying potentially threatened structures praised Cheryl for the work she's done to prepare her house and property.
Collins Demonstration Forest Burn
We were fortunate to operate under the leadership of ODF’s Prescribed FireProgram Manager, Amanda Rau.
